Operating Table
What’s operating table? It’s a special table in an operating room that a person lies on while having an operation. It’s the table on which the patient lies during a surgical operation.
An operating table, particularly for microsurgery of the neck or throat, the nose or the ear of a patient comprises a vertically adjustable standard, a supporting frame, a patient rest or support structure as well as a first adjusting mechanism for performing a pivotable movement of the patient rest or support oriented transversely of the operating table and a second adjusting mechanism for performing a pivotable movement of the patient rest or support structure which is oriented longitudinally of the operating table. Working or operating cylinders acting upon the two adjusting mechanisms are accommodated or coordinated to each other in respect of their function such that the patient rest or support structure may be simultaneously pivoted in the transverse direction and the longitudinal direction of the operating table while retaining the essentially locally fixed operating site or location.
A surgical operation table has a patient supporting surface supported on a column on a movable base. The base has a plurality of feet which can rest on the ground to support the base in a fixed position. The base can be moved on running wheels which are movable with respect to the base to and from a position in which they are engaged with the ground, and the feet are clear of the ground. Thanks to easy-to-use electronic controls, this table can be silently lowered down to a mere 24 inches from the floor, so surgeons who prefer to operate while sitting down can be easily accommodated. A support frame is displaceable with respect to the base to move the running wheels into the position in which they are engaged with the ground and the feet are clear of the ground. The frame is also displaceable with respect to the base to enable the running wheels to move clear of the ground and the feet to engage the ground.
Smooth, jerk-free and uniform movements of the lifting columns for operating tables, regardless of patient weight, are the basis for precise operations. In general they are electrically operated, but they can also be equipped with a manual emergency operation option. The operating table is in standard position with the patient's head toward the anesthesia station. Thanks to years of experience, customer-specific requirements can be fulfilled quickly and efficiently.
