Transport system for disabled people
Although accommodations for wheelchair-bound people have been improved by the Americans with Disabilities
Act and other initiatives, there are still many places around the world that just aren’t able to accommodate wh-
eelchairs. Not to mention the difficulty that handicapped people can encounter with curbs, rough terrain and re-
aching items from high shelves.A transport apparatus for disabled individuals has a frame for carrying a driver,
drive wheels, at least one front wheel, a back support and a push structure. The drive wheels are removable con-
nected to drive wheel mounts. Those mounts are positioned on the frame near the rear of the frame. The front
wheel is connected to a rotating fork that is mounted to the front of the frame by a fork mount.
There is provided a stair-climbing vehicle for transporting a wheelchair with a person sitting on. The vehicle comp-
rise a crawler device including a pair of endless belt crawlers disposed on opposite sides of the vehicle; a vehicle
body including a driving motor for driving the crawler device to enabling the stair-climbing vehicle to climb up or
down a stairway; a load-carrying platform for mounting a wheelchair, said load-carrying platform being provided
above the vehicle body capable of pivoting in vertical direction about one end thereof. The load-carrying platform
is provided with a inclination sensor. The inclination sensor includes a first inclination sensing element and a seco-
nd inclination sensing element, each inclination sensing element is a tubular member containing a flowable electri-
cally conductive material and a pair of electrically conductive terminals.
Easily operated by health care providers, driving services, nursing homes and by employees in public buildings and
within the employers premises. Lightweight and compact, it can also be folded small enough to fit easily into most
car boots.
Sometimes the need for a stair lift is a temporary one. Disabilities brought on by surgery or other medical treatments
that may be resolved by therapy, or once treatment is discontinued, are actually quite common. In situations such as
this, you may have need of a stair lift but do not want to invest in buying a permanent lift solution for your home.
One of the main benefits of battery powered stair lifts is that they work even when the power is out. This makes
battery-powered stair lifts essential to those who live by themselves and are unable to get up and down the stairs
without the aid of a lift.
