What should be in a military first aid kit?
Military tourniquet:
The military tourniquet is a useful aid for self-help and mutual aid, relying on strong constriction to quickly compress blood vessels and stop the flow of blood. Compared to traditional gauze bandages, it has two features: firstly, it is fast, stopping bleeding within seconds; secondly, it can be operated by a single soldier, even without the help of a comrade or paramedic.
First aid chest seal patches
In cases of trauma, the First Aid Chest Seal can be life-saving. Ideal for open pneumothoraxes, this closed seal also prevents the development of tension pneumothoraxes caused by gunshot, stab wounds or other chest injuries.
The highly aggressive hydrogel adhesive allows the seal to conform and adhere to all contours of the body and also prevents further contamination of the injury.
This product forms a closed seal around the wound, providing complete occlusion (even with excess blood, dirt, or heavy sweating).
Haemostatic Gauze
Instant Gauze haemostatic gauze acts as a haemostatic matrix, clotting the blood and accelerating the haemostatic process. Its effectiveness does not depend on the normal clotting mechanisms in the body. It is very effective in controlling bleeding from small blood vessels and its endogenous haemostatic mechanism achieves rapid haemostasis within 2-8 minutes.
It can be left in the body. It is usually completely absorbed within 7-10 days (faster than other haemostatic products) with little or no tissue reaction and no reports of toxicity, allergic or rejection reactions.
The fabric-like nature of the QuickShield makes it easy to adhere to any irregular bleeding tissue surface, but not to gloves and instruments. It can be wrapped, sutured, applied or filled and has been proven to be used in almost all surgical procedures. After more than 30 years of experience in surgical applications and many clinical trials, it has gained wide confidence in the surgical community.
Aseptic packaging and just the right size provide convenience for the operator. The stable tissue structure ensures perfect storage at the right temperature and easy access to the sterile area when needed. It is economical as it is effective when used in small quantities.
